Partners Family Resource Centers

Kim Shureen and Ellen Sommers co-teach a conversation class through Partners that meets at the Methodist Church in Grass Valley on Tuesdays at 10:45am. Group size is usually 4-8 people (mostly beginners). Partners, operated by the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, offers many outreach services (through promotoras Angelly and Honey) to help Latino families connect to community resources.

Nevada County Library (at Grass Valley Library)

ESL class and conversation, Tuesdays 12:00-1:30pm and Fridays 9:00am-10:30am. These are drop in, with between 2-6 students at mostly beginning and intermediate levels. There is also an intermediate/advanced class that meets on Thursdays from 4:00–5:30pm. The library also offers individual tutoring, matching students with tutors for meetings at the libraries.
