Piell Tutor Get Together Notes

June 6, 2018 Round Table Pizza

Attendees:  :  Ellen Hagan, Bill Ososki, Norema Strongin, Wendy Hartley, Mary Ann McDonald, Bill DeCamp, Alan Greenbaum, Anna Villages, Donna Dekker, Marlee Chamberlin, Louise Beesley

Each person introduced themselves and told the group a little about themselves and their learner.

Bill De Camp gave an excellent presentation “A few smart-device application categories for consideration”.  (Click here to view)

We then went on to discuss ideas & suggestions that are working.

Use of smart phone translator is very helpful especially with beginner learners.

Use of reading children’s books if children are there and games to play such as Banana Grams, Concentration.

DuoLingo online application – “Basic Grammer in Use”  was suggested for beginners.

Louise, our librarian brought many books from the PiELL library for us to look at and check out if we thought they were appropriate for our learner.
